Seasons

Spring.
Fresh chaotic rain,
Weeping on fogged bus windows
Someone drew a heart
Amidst the obscenities
I drew another, smiling.

Summer.
Empyrean joy,
Mysteries known by lamplight
Unfolded, silent
A grand adventure ended
Sighing, I knew pride and loss.

Autumn.
Groggy beach walks,
I push sand into water
A happy pastime
Alone I wonder, would you
Have copied, sharing small joys?

Winter.
Night, restless sojourns,
A pale ghost in the street-lights
Wandering eyes, thoughts
A new book waited, concealed
At home, I loved and feared it.
