Lynch

We’re chained together still you see.
Well.
More I’m chained to you than
you’re chained to me.
It’s red and it’s raw as it drags
me along.

I try to pull away but I’m just not that
Strong.
I acquiesce, get depressed, and can't handle
this stress.
I’m hitched to the back of your
pickup truck and I hate to admit it
But I still give a fuck but that’s
Probably the fog in my head talking.

I need the beam of a lighthouse
to clear away the haze and
the flickering film reels of
Better days.

We’re chained together still you see.
Well.
More I’m chained to you than you are
to me.
And I was so close to the keys.

To being set free.

To finally unchaining you from me.
