Lost Angel Man's Blues

Blues Midnight Sermon

Give me the lost
The ones who hurt
And gave their lives away
Let me hear your voice
My ears are open to
Your cries
Your rage
Give to me your blues
All of your hearthache
All of your despair
Give to me
All of your stories
I’ll tell them all
To the salivating jaws
Of this world
Tell me about
How you never shined
Or the girl who wouldn’t
Lower her pants for you
Confess to me
All of your sufferings
I’m here to listen
Talk to me
About your lives
I want to know
I’ll keep your secrets
Close to my heart
I’ll laugh
I’ll cry
I’ll torture you
And then get drunk at midnight
Tell your story
I promise to God
Or to the absence of God
Tell to me
What you can’t tell a priest
And we’ll share a
Bottle of wine in the dark
The spotlight is for
The angels and devils
And we’re not worthy of either
Only of each other

(2015)

This is a small sample of what I like to think of as poetic blues sketching in an afternoon jam session free to roam, free to inspire, free to repulse, and free to dream
