Being with Animals
To sit alongside lions
Sharing in the gathering
For a meal
No fear
No resentment
The natural way to feel
A leopard stands tall
Watching for life
Surveying our presence
No danger
No intrusion
We’re of the same essence
The inquisitive antelope
Raise their heads
From the grass
A warning passed
Of interlopers
Shared respect, given a pass
Animals and humans
Born equally
If you believe
On day six
God made it this way
For Adam and Eve
The selfishness chosen
Elephants, rhino, the beauty of nature
Must disappear
Work for life
It’s humans ourselves
That humans should fear
