First Light

First light, first sign that tomorrow’s here
That we’ll savor the passing of another day
To see and touch all those that we hold dear
And smell the many blossoms along the way

Incipient daylight, omen of the future to come
A promise of warmth, sunlight and blue skies
Rebirth to most, but second chances to some
Fervent hopes,  from cocoons will come butterflies!

First light; mirror image of dusk’s afterglow
Morning dew, the counterpoint to twilight mist
Eventide ushers the night; and dawn, tomorrow
As we await hopeful; by Lady Luck we be kissed!

Incipient; something good just about to happen
First light, an augur of blessings yet to come
From the east, light streams as sleepy eyes we open
We look skyward, where heav’nly graces come from!
