the jacaranda explodes in purple majesty
a prince in the midst of the green domain
in the breeze, its blossoms swaying freely
under the sun, moist from the morning rain
the mighty oak spreads its wings to shade
from the blazing sun, every forest creature
behind it, the stately elm appears unafraid
of lightning bolts; the upcoming bad weather!
eucalyptus leaves are plentiful and green
not a single koala that anyone can blame!
the willow weeps, maple’s sweet, birch so ashen
these trees put man’s monuments to shame...
in our world, none as beautiful as trees
for that, we thank our Maker on bended knees...
