Love Is

Love is not something that’s found. It’s something to which you surrender
It will find you, if you are lucky, in moments both rare and tender

Love’s different faces, are all around us you and me
But if you search too hard, you might be blind to see

Love is the essence, that all the world turns on
It makes the stars twinkle, and the Sun rise at dawn

It’s why God made, all the things that you see
It’s what He consists of, and also the key

It’s the key to being happy, and finding who you are
It’s the key to not just breathing. The key to going far

Love is hidden in the details, in how we live our life
Simple things like cuddling, a husband and his wife

Two brothers who are loyal, or your sister’s wedding day
The first steps of your son, as he learns to walk and play

You’ll find it in a mother, who rocks her child to sleep
I’ve known it now from many friends, some shallow, some quite deep

The saddest thing I’ve ever seen, is a life without it’s light,
Or people that give up on love, and don’t put up a fight

So if you ever find it, don’t ever let it go
Just nurture it and kindle flame, and watch the fire’s glow

Nothing else will keep you warm, as much as it’s embrace
Nothing else can carry you, like smile on lover’s face

If all life ever offers you, is love in truest form,
Unlike money, fame, or fortune, only love your heart can warm

Consider yourself lucky, some will search and never find,
A love that rings both strong and true, so don’t leave it behind

Fight with all you own, with everything you are
Don’t be afraid to let love shine, and be your guiding star
