Fossil

I don’t expect a grave
I don’t expect to see the day
All the deceived will grieve
For they’ll know they could have believed
 
But my life did not matter
Just another disposable fool
I stood and took my battering
And now I go high where the light rules
 
My fossil I will leave behind
Farewell to the eternal blind
 
I will not mourn their loss
Naivete clouded the cost
They took my simple life
Because they knew that I was right
 
My fossil I will leave behind

It’s a fossil that will remind
All of the things they could not find
 
They may try to dig deep down
Uncovering lost remains
They will only find dry bones
And withered hearts they erased
