Keep Your Head Up

It’s hard to keep one’s head up when the shadow of depression is chained to it and trying to pull you into the abyss of despair while slamming down with the stones of pain and suffering trying to pound you to your knees and gain leverage. You know if they succeed and you give in, it’s just as difficult to climb out since the vines of self loathing and insecurity pull you down deeper. Then it gets comfortable in your isolated, antisocial, self devouring pity. You start to disconnect from reality and just watch as your life slowly passes by getting more and more sad and pointless. You can’t ask for help since you are all alone, plus no one would honestly care anyways. Sometimes the detachment can be easier being that you don’t have to interact with people because that’s what autopilot is for.
