25 Years of Depression
I have a pain that won’t let me go.
A deep-down-in your-bones kind of pain.
The pain of loss, bad choices and stolen dreams.
The new miracle drug-of-the-day didn’t help;
the therapy, the coming-to-terms, the letting go of old hurts and slights.
No matter what, that gnawing pain is still there.
A hole in my broken soul.
