Quality Time

Descendant of kings, regal and strong
this beautiful man sleeps peacefully by my side
I quietly watch the rise and fall of his chest with his every breath
and, heart racing, I suddenly realize
I am SO in love with this man
He awakens for a brief moment and pulls me closer into his arms,
safe and strong, and my God,
his scent, masculine and comforting
warm figs and bergamot
He smiles tenderly and quickly drifts back to sleep
I smile and kiss his forehead
We treasure these precious moments
As the tears fall, I take a deep breath and relax
This is love.
