Hold On

I lie at the intersection
Of affection and affliction
And in protective arms
I tremble, my fingertips call
As if drawn from far, far away
And near, of course, so near
I fear the storm
I feel warm
Torn by the intensity
The immensity
Of the distance you’ve taken me
Away from reality
The passion in me
Please, stay with me?
Please, keep your hands pressed
Against my sweating flesh
Every inch, baby you know best
You put the world to rest
And intimacy to the test
Because you’ll never know
The way my heart screams for you
When you hold my stare
Fingers tangled in my hair
Chasing down my spine
The higher I’ll climb
Blind to everything except
Your fire pulsing, burning
I’m twisting and turning
And you hold me still.
