Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all the readers of my poems

Was the night of Christmas eve the fire burning bright,
On this freezing bitterly cold crisp winters night.
Waiting for our Christmas day delights.
Drinking hot delicious milk chocolate,
With marshmallows floating around the mug,
but the drink was warm tasty and good,
The freezing cold white snow outside,
The filled path we would have to find.

The house was warm
the fires flames were glowing bright,
casting elongated shadows,
on this cold dark winters night.
The large beautiful festive Christmas tree
filled the corner, with colorful beautiful twinkling lights,
bright baubles, silver tinsel, candy sticks,
chocolate gold coins to and a star on the top shines bright.

Night of Christmas eve and all were asleep
No one made a noise, not even a peep.
We all slept, all warm and tucked in our beds.
With pictures of Santa Claus
whirling around in our heads heads.
