I remember everything.
I remember our conversations that carried into the morning hours.
I remember your smile when you would look down at me.
I remember the night you kissed me and held me in your arms.
I remember you wouldn’t let me go.
And I remember the night you told me you thought I was the one.
Sometimes I think back and wish we hadn’t said goodbye and left everything in ruins.
But I know that time stops for no one and what happened must have happened for a reason.
I always think back and start to wonder how you’re doing now.
And just maybe, if we’re meant to be together someday, we’ll find a way back to each other.
But for now,
I’ll let time continue on its path because you’re no longer mine and I’m no longer yours.
