Sunshine

Our bodies are an earth all cycles interlope,
Dependent on ourselves after we have grown,
Growing more through sight and hand,
Learn that falling’s fine as long as you rise again,
Eyes as the skies, blue or simply clouded up,
Unable to see our paths, blinding so abrupt,
A challenge to reveal the sun behind the skies,
Beyond the clouded irises, to you the world has deprived,
The true beauty it contains unnoticed for so long,
Is the beauty in individuals who lack believing they are strong
There’s only so much condensation a cloud can take
before its sorrows precipitate,
And there you stand gazing at your feet,
Squinted eyes, release the lies, no need to be discreet,
Each tear, each one, absorbed beneath your toes,
Has formed you to a blossom and evident you’ll grow,
So lush and so green, your confidence has sprung,
Starved yourself of rain, when you deserved to see the sun.
