Please don’t give up on me
Please don’t let me fade,
I don’t want to be a distant memory
Who has gone from bright to shade.
 
Forgotten, unimportant
And no longer in your life,
So far away now
As useless as a dulled knife.
 
I’m scared you’ll forget me
And things will change too much,
I’m scared you’ll forget me
And soon we’ll loose touch.
 
Someone who was in your life
Now a name you can’t recall,
A friend who is now, stranger
Whose importance has grown small.
 
Please don’t forget me
Please don’t let me fade,
You’re a chunck of who I am
Who I’ve become, how I’m made.
 
Friends, as I write this
My sadness deeply grows,
Please be aware that I’m here
Please be aware of what this poem shows.
 
I do not wish to be forgotten.
