My Bike

The training wheels are coming off, that little girl is growing. And who would think that this one time the memories were showing. Hang on daddy, please hang on. Until I’m ready, you’ll know. Keep me straight and keep me steady, until its time to let go. Hang on tighter daddy, I’m getting ready to fall. The time has come for you to let go, but I am not ready at all. Crying not for yourself, but what you leave behind. Whispering let go daddy, when please don’t is on my mind. It is going to be a scary road, but I need you to know, that I will be okay now daddy because it is time for you to let go. Angels sent from heaven above to watch us in our sleep are the training wheels for my bike that I intend to keep. That little girl was growing, the bike was just a start. By remembering all the times daddies hands had touched her heart.
