Today my professor helped me realize
Everything I do is a decision I’ve made
Some point in my life I need to find myself
And tell everybody to fuck off because it’s my life
He told me to chase my dreams and not my drinks
He taught me to apply myself and write my thoughts for everyone to see
He said don’t worry about what happens next
It’s all an adventure
Nothing bad can happen
If I convince myself nothing in this life is bad
Today I’m starting my new state of mind
To live life and go on being kind
I’ll smile and strangers
And experiment with music and art
Dip my toes in the water of the unknown
