The birds flock
to the bird feeder,
some with black,
capped heads
and others with
blue hues
in their feathers.

A golden finch
is a feast
for the eyes,
leading the spirit
to dance,
as it flies,
back to open sky.

The day is ending
and night is falling,
hummingbirds rise
from the feeder,
the hum of wings,
promise,
a gift of wonder
until the new dawn.

I have been bird watching lately, they are such a gift!

Next to trees, birds are my favorite of God's creations. Nice tribute to our feathered friends.
