(2013)
Today, I wish the pain to go, the fatigue that I fight so. This process of aging is unkind and yet, the law of nature is a fast lane of change.
Silver sliver of the moon With the bright star of Venus Trailing behind. Moonbeams casting light On the waves,
Inhale, the arms float up, Exhale, the arms float down, Namaste, at the heart. Inhale, the body bends, Hands at top of mat,
Walking down the dirt path, Sounds drift on the air, Birds chirping, leaves Rustling, dogs barking. Interconnection of life
On this New Year’s Eve Direction lost Drifting like blowing snow To and fro. A freeze comes
In the still night In the silence, My soul begs, My mind to rest. It’s story told
The white snow lay gently on the ground in a swirl pattern. The sky, a slab of smooth grey stone.
This evening the blank, white page is open. My nerves are on edge, while a storm forms on the horizon.
When I first heard “The Blackbird,” In the middle Of night, I was just thirteen.
Holiday cheer and laughter, Multicolored lights blink faster, Music of love and good will, Grace the air like snowflakes. Tis the season to be compassionate…
At that magical time When the yellow moon Sets, And the pink mist Of dawn,
Beneath the bustling, hustling mind, deep inside, there is an oasis of calm.
Birds flying here and there, landing on branches to chirp and bare, their heart. A private club among the trees with their own private code.
Remember goodness in the fire of e… Remember joy in the center of sorr… Remember love in the flood of hate… Remember courage in the pit of fea… It’s never too late.
Just a small part of me wants strife to go away, to return to a kinder time. Am I just losing courage? Life is draining me,
