there’s something about flowers and butterflies.
you ask someone why they pick flowers,
“because they’re pretty.”
you ask someone why they pull weeds,
“because they’re ugly.”
you ask someone why they like butterflies,
“because they’re pretty.”
you ask someone why they hate moths,
“because they’re ugly.”
it’s okay to kill a flower.
it’s okay to keep butterflies in glass.
but bizarre to want moths on your patio,
and weeds in your garden.
there’s something about it that makes me think all about girls.
something about the idea of killing things because theyre pretty and then being disgusted when they start to rot
