I watch closely

His small confidant hand

wraps little fingers

tightly around the ball,

his feet stuck firmly

in his muddy boots.

He yells

Stand further away!

Big strong hands grips the bat

sweat beads on his broad face,

his hand comes up

and waves a fly away.

Fire away boy!

The ball hurtles

a loud clap sounds

as the ball makes contact,

and flies through the air.

YEH! Told you so!

Grinning in his muddy boots

he runs

to get the ball

and throw it again,

to my hero.
