Find YOUrself Foundation
I want to start this off by thanking you for your time
And allowing us to share our positive ideas with you
We have the same and goals and missions
Just maybe including a change… or two
Y’all are very hip and young administrators
And all of the teachers are doing an excellent job
Providing all of the students with adequate information
But without a voice they can really relate to, the kids are essentially being robbed
Getting kids excited and motivated for high school
And definitely preparing them for the next level of education
But the apathy of some kids and the common indecisiveness
Has led us to a sticky situation
Every kid has a dream to go to college and to be the big man on campus
No matter what lie they tell you
But the majority of the kids that “act out” in class are scared of failure
You may not believe it, but it’s true
Just think about it
When you say you’re gonna fail, expect to fail, and then laugh about failing
It doesn’t seem to hurt as bad because it’s expected
Changing the attitudes and motivation of these kids are vital
There’s a difference between teaching, and actually giving a lesson
Teaching is mandatory
Math, science, history, English and everything else we don’t wanna know
Having one on one sessions is needed
In order to prevent college students from droping out and avoiding kids going broke
The transition from high school to college
Is literally the most dramatic thing any kid will ever experience
Making that jump from 1600 kids to 25000 is traumatizing
It’s not like home when you can go running to your parents
Everyone isn’t prepared the way they should be
And that’s definitely not a knock against you guys
Morgan and myself gained our inspiration from our past events
We can see clearly and really look into a student’s eyes
Kids can’t relate to adults
Words and advice go through one ear and out the other
They need someone that they know and trust that’s going through the same thing
Someone like a sister or a brother
Someone that knows the drama associated with high school
Someone they feel they can share personal fears and doubts with
The find YOUrself foundation is the perfect solution
We’re here to give students an emotional lift
Students are embarrassed to attend a community college
When quite frankly, it’s one of the smartest options you can choose
Saving money, being close to home, and figuring out what to do and where to go
There’s literally no way you can lose
College is that in-between section of life when you aren’t quite an adult
But you definitely wanna be
It’s that section of life when you get your priorities together
I wish I would have had a support system behind me
I didn’t have the parent’s to help me fill out applications
Or motivate me to go to the school of my choice
I struggled with an identity crisis for over a year
Before I finally found my voice
Thing’s aren’t how they were 5 and 10 years ago
And I know for a fact our Find YOUrself Foundation WILL make a difference
In order for us to give these kids opportunities and Hope
We need You to give us a chance
