Love can be thrilling, love is not perfect,
Love is a challenge but it’s usually worth it,
Love is a raincoat in the absence of rain,
That everyone wears to protect from the pain,
Love is a sailboat floating into a sea,
With storm clouds ahead that no body sees,
Love is a flower that craves water and sun,
Love is a fear and the instinct to run,
Love is euphoria held together by trust
That gets passion from ecstasy and turned on by lust,
Love is a flame that can turn into fire,
It can burn all the bridges or make the dark lighter,
Love can explode and make people blind,
Love can be something someone thinks they won’t find,
Love can mean fear as you feel yourself fall,
It means loving someone despite all of their flaws,
Love is not lying to get what you want,
Or tearing someone down just so you can feel strong,
It’s not finding lust elsewhere while the other’s at home,
It’s not being warm in your jacket while she stands in the cold,
It’s not running away leaving no explanation,
It’s not hitting a woman just because your impatient,
It’s not staying in the boat while the other one drowns,
It’s not ignoring their pain while they crawl on the ground,
Love is something beautiful that makes us smile at night,
But love will never be anything if only one person tries.
