Headphones
I put in my headphones
To listen to songs
And I listen to sad things
Which tend to make me cry
And I listen to screaming
That shows my emotion
And shouts what I’m thinking
The first is okay
To play out loud
My parents don’t mind.
The second is not
Because it “isn’t music”
And my parents refuse
To hear it playing
But sometimes that racket
Is my only lifeline
So I use my headphones
To drown out the noise
Produced from the scrambling
I do in my mind
