The Child By My Side
Thoughts of my son Christopher Daniel
The little one in the front waiting patiently
who I call Danny.
A true story.
The child by my side who’s name is Chris,
believe me as I tell you of this.
This was a child sent from God above,
to give his Mother peace and love.
A Mother struggling to raise five
A Mother struggling to survive.
No one is perfect and neither was he,
but as good a boy as he could be.
Not troublesome but in a peaceful way,
walking with Mommy day by day.
I say not these things for praise to him,
for I thank God for every one of them.
And as I think back my mind can see,
my little children being there with me.
We had good times, and some were bad,
but for each one I’m so very glad.
I think of them all, one by one,
and today in particular my little son.
and thinking back good thoughts arise,
and I’m glad God sent him by my side.
