Phantasmagoria

2005

A solid Enchilada burns my lips away
I wrap the hot burrito around my head and say:

I dont regret– not a dreg
that I dreamt my life apart
and I wont forget a single brag
that slowly killed this heart

A book fair and lots of fringe market stuff,
my hungry eyes never read enough:

I squared the Bermuda Triangle
and Im close to touching the sky
gotta see it from a different angle
cause I wanna know now “Y M I?”

In a squated house of rats and rumble
where I can hear the citadels mumble:

“You read a thousand faces
on your disheveled trip in rags
Youve been to a thousand places
despite of ataxia and your lazy legs”
Yes I met a carpenter, a shepherd, and a wizard
and I embraced a tree, a sheep and a lizard:

“Now that you traversed the moat
to free yourself from acoria
can you keep yourself afloat
in this phantasmagoria?”

I swallow words of mysterious origin
in this ocean of yore lore medicine

But I dont regret one single draft
that kept me from aporia
and I wont forget how I laughed
about this temporary anisocoria...
