Welfare

2006

Shades of stars now disappear
prolong this trip, for another year
Homesick I drag bags of books
Though docile wanderlust got me on its hooks
One two three divert weeks are left
and still we have no wood thats cleft
They await me, I dont care
expand my view for little fare

Horizons of ships are ment to sink
when my bleached skin swallows ink
A sci-fi desk, a wooden meal
bread like a stone, when will my wound heal?
While you open it with your teeth
or scald me at your poison seethe
I await something else and Ill get there
expand my horizon for a higher fare

Tongues of leather, petrified wood
a present for my mother, a thanks for my childhood
Friends of wool and interest
weeded out, a scientist.
will hold me up till I can fly
Im supposed to know, cause Ive wondered why.
They await me, and I pay a well fare
to expand myself to anywhere.
