Blood Moon
on the lunar eclipse
The only thing warm tonight
in the deep winter sky ~
and soon to occlude.
The Wolf Moon, Ice
Moon, Old Moon.
During its dousing
a time for howling
out our truth
to the star-studded Universe,
so deeply listening.
Offering up wonder
for these rare passages
of our planetary Nature,
like generations
of strangers,
of ancestors
before us.
Divining the light
inside our shadow
as it passes so silently,
so mysteriously,
red-bloodedly,
over the Earth.
