“Just move on”,
When you weren’t the one
In their shoes.
It’s easy to tell someone,
“Just let go”,
When you aren’t the one tangled
and tied in their web of emotions.
It’s easy to tell someone,
“Just stop”,
When you aren’t the one
Still wanting to go forward.
It’s easy to tell someone,
“They don’t want you”,
When you aren’t the one
Who wanted nothing more.
It’s easy to tell someone,
“You’ll never be together again”,
When you aren’t the one surviving
Solely on hope for a change.
It’s not easy
To wake up
To emptiness
When you’re used to fulfillment
It’s not easy
To look inward
When you would rather
Look back instead
It’s not easy
To say “Goodbye”
When you’ve found security
In every “Hello”
