what do i know of love...

i know only of my love
which by day belongs to one
and by night the same
which through trial or death
does not waver but instead
sets free the bird

i know only of my love
that when unwanted and undone
returns whence it came
the well that never empties
soil of fragrant bed
tilled by soulful word

i know only of my love
longing beneath moon and sun
to speak her true name
in each and every breath
tongued or left unsaid
the fealings never heard

what do i know of love...

i know only of my love...

and im longing...

for love to know me too...

fealing not mispelled :)

I use it to convey not only emotion but also the archaic form of the word which means faithful or faith and fidelity... It is also a form of cryptography that is hiding things in words. This is a poetic trait I picked up from St. John of the Cross :)

Would you explain the 'fealing'? I'm curious what's behind the intentional spelling.

Your verse is like an intricate lace,
Woven out of freshly gathered dreams
And delicate spider webs
That were sparkling with dew in the morning.
The way you sing of love...
I put you in the same ranks with Rumi and Hafiz. They would be glad of your company.

Nice Cory. You obviously have a talent for this poetry malarkey.I find it hard to comment on your poems as they are usually out our of both my intellectual and comfort zone.At school I was the one who was invariably talking instead of listening, which is the reason my poems are of the simple rhyming kind
