Black Hole

It can almost be described as a light–
Hope.
So beautiful, so bright...
Like a star.
A shining, burning sun,
Shedding its light and heat everywhere it can.
The planets all orbit around,
Absorbing this amazingness,
This awe striking freedom
From emptiness and coldness.
Gravity keeps us safe–
We continue to revolve,
We have purpose,
We have life.
Hope–
The sun–
Is how we survive.
It was my hope,
My shining purpose,
Which I revolved around.
Its radiating heat,
Its selfless light and kindness
Allowed me to flourish and thrive.
Until the darkness enveloped within it,
Forces combining,
Converging on itself–
On my sun.
Collapsing on itself,
It sucked its heat in
Instead of letting it out.
But it didn’t stop–
The mass of this sudden darkness
Enveloped the galaxy around itself–
Enveloped me.
Such dark matter,
Such mysteriousness,
Grasping me into nothingness.
I was no longer in orbit–
I didn’t know what I was.
Stretched, strained, transformed,
Gone.
This darkness,
Continuing to grow,
Taking in every light and star
I used to admire from afar.
Everything beautiful,
Everything kind–
Trapping in the black hole
Of nothing.
We all wait,
Chained by the inevitable,
Waiting for the darkness
To explode into light again.
