Bright July Moon
In blue dusk,
In peace momentous,
Your influence,
Pulling this way and that,
Keeps us in perfect balance.
Smaller than the Earth
Your longevity,
Your great span
Through time and motion,
Belittles man -
Microbes of emotion.
Your husband looks on
Still in a spin
From when you first
Bumped into him,
His love transfixed
By your hypnotic veils of light.
Such constancy
We try to imitate
As I, dear wife, am in love with you,
My satellite of many years,
Children of these two,
Offspring of the Sun.
