The last laugh

I’m sitting on my butt in this lonely room,
sitting back chilling, dreaming of you,
I know where I’ve been and I know where I’m going,
waiting for you to catch on
to what I’m already knowing,
peeps will be pissed and they won’t understand,
But they’ll get the big picture
Once I’m putting a ring on your hand.
It’s been a long while and some things have changed,
you will eventually realize your feelings are the same.
No other man has made you feel this way,
because no other man will give up everything,
to be by your side and love you forever,
they may read this poem and think I’m being clever,
But when the day comes, the joke will be on them,
And I’ll be walking you down the aisle
With an ear to ear grin.
