Caricamento in corso...

A SECOND TIME

I was a sailor of broken ships
Eternally lost to the sea
until one day in November
I was washed on a vacant shore
And buried in the secret of the sand.

And there you were
a seaside spectator,
an ocean specimen taker.

Your footprints had passed me
once before.
Then covered over by the surf
and lost to the wind.
Forever, I thought.

But I watched you come closer
a second time.
And reaching down
you cuddled me,
in the lines of your hand.

Like a broken roadmap
leading in all directions.

No wonder you lost your way
...lost your way.

But this time you took me home
and placed me beside you where at night
I’d peer through the darkness
and feel your breath
Never afraid of what secrets the sand
may give up

Only that we found each other
a second time.
