Take Away
Take a mother away from a boy,
he may never know true love.
There is a feeling and knowledge
he may never know of.
Take a father away from a boy,
he may never know how to really be a man.
To be a man for someone or himself
he never can.
Take a mother away from a girl,
she may never feel complete.
She will forever feel
that she is born to compete.
Take a father away from a girl,
she may never be able to respect herself.
She puts all her personal dreams
on a dusty, old shelf.
Take away the only thing we have,
and we will shatter.
But to society, to economy,
it doesn’t matter...
