To fall in love is a breath
of living death
where all is silent
and you forget to rest.
To fall in love is to slit
your throat in a matter of wit
like the shade from sun
in which you sit.
To fall in love is to stare
into the vows we share
that can’t decide when to
and what to wear.
To fall in love is to fall
into voids in the wall
where emotions
can’t conquer all.
To fall in love is fear
without the ability to clear
a soul so open
and clouds need a shear.
But to love you is a lair
in which we share
and make time to spare
because you can’t scare
me into letting you go...
Because to let go of you
is a knife w/o clue,
guilty w/o sue,
torture to a baby new,
silencing a dove’s coo,
and everything painful to me.
To fall in love with you is my happy place
because everywhere else is hell.
So love me well.
