Final Moment

The gate was unlocked
Straight to the door and I knocked
my heart pounding
eyes welling up with tears
It was time to face every mind bending fear
Then the world seemed to pause
letting me play it all out in my head
it was time to find out if she listened to all I’ve said
The day of truth
the day long awaited
the day we finally see if our love has made it
Fall into my arms
melt my heart
and lets gaze toward the sunset
as our new life starts.
The door suddenly opened
I stand there frozen
and looking right at me was the little girl I had missed for so long
she grabbed my hand
and I held on tight
we made a run for it together
and drove all night
just like the movies mom, she said
and we laughed all night
I’m complete now
and I feel alright
