At the Crossroad

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV

A fork in the road
To the west Jerusalem
Due east Babylon
Thousands traveling eastward
But the road west deserted

The road east wide smooth
Paved with roses and gemstones
Babylon beguiles
But deceitful its allure
For in the end, no future

Narrow the road west
Rocky with thorns and thistles
Often times uphill
But at the end of the road
A bright city paved in gold

Here at the crossroads
It’s manifest what shall be
Still the siren calls
Seductive and glamorous
Most difficult to refuse

We need God’s armor
To resist the enticement
Of the siren song
May we stand firm unbending
On the road to e’erlasting

A fork in the road
One road towards Gehenna
One to redemption
So, with free will God-given
Let’s choose the path to heaven
