Yellow Ribbon

Tied to the bedroom door, a yellow ribbon

His heart skipped, throbbing in hyper speed

As the nervous thrill of anticipation

Overcame him completely, yes indeed!

For there it is, in unblushing fashion

So dazzling that one’s eyes must heed

He’s prayed, and at last reconciliation!

From the stars above, love again decreed

"If I don't see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me"

This is the first in a series of poems I will write about forgiveness and reconciliation. This poem tells the story of a lover in ecstacy knowing his beloved has finally forgiven him.
