I’m thinking of Pearl Harbor
Saw tears and honors galore
That “Day now lives in Infamy”
Starting another World of War
A moment of silence marked
The instant attacks began
Importance of the events
Now remembered once again
Every eerie call of a battleship
A gong heard loud and strong
“Remembering that day of infamy”
When everything went wrong
The speaker honored everyone
Asked survivors to stand if able
Now seventy years have passed
Many were young but now not stable
A beautiful wreath was gently placed
We prayed with gratitude and love
Thinking of those who fought and died
Honoring men we are so proud of
“Walk of Honor” path so proudly tread
Some with wheelchairs, some with a cane
This passing group, survivors marched
Remembering friends with tears of pain
People were reminded of the past
Freedom comes with a mighty cost
America, remember and keep alert
Our precious freedoms could be lost
