Falling Empire

“Treat others how you wish to be treated”
The golden rule I grew up with.
With this generation, the rules been defeated.
You know what they say, “Rules are made to be broken”
Breaking, taking, staking without token.
I’ve been nothing but kind
Meet my generous demise.
The turn tables away from the stables.
My comfort, my home all falls into places.
I’m here, and there, I’m everywhere.
I vanish, the girl you pretend to care about.
180 degrees, roundabout scenes.
I’m demonic and terrorized.
My bad, my fault, you surmise.
You say goodbye, "It’s not me, it’s you.”
I cared for you, loved you, and showed you the world.
All I wanted from you was respect in return.
Call it what you want: ADD, anxiety, ADHD
But simply a reflection of you is what you got to see.
History is tradition, rules forever broken.
But live, learn, and change
Repetition can be forbidden.
Plainly put, I’ll spell it out right.
How I needed to be treated was too much of a fight.
Reroute, distract, attack, pursue.
Treat others as they treated you.
