Immortality

What difference does it make

if I live or die?

My words will float

with the clouds

and transcend the boundaries

of the living earth and

drift into the void of space

and mingle with sunlight

and scatter into a rainbow for

the children in scorched battlefields

Immortality is being Hope

for those who have forgotten

how to dream

You’ll remember me when the cloud comes and the rain leaves you lonely or perhaps I’ll kill myself

Have you met someone who came to you not looking for something, just to sit with you and watch the ocean waves

when it doesn’t rain in the dreary shades of my city or in my stone-cold heart

My mind wants to reach out and grab something electrifying: something that has the power to make it feel alive My mind: it has been hard at work

eyes meet lips embrace bodies tangle crumpled bedsheets bear witness to the making of love
