I packed to Oz late afternoon...
in rainbow-colored hot air balloon
I said goodbye to nobody...
wearing something oh so gaudy!

I landed on the Munchkin land...
Gave me a taste, oh so bland...
The flying monkeys ran amuck!
Forgot their wings, they're drunk with guck!
I was to follow the yellow brick road...
but yellow brick road was about to corrode...
So, I jumped right back in my air balloon
To fly over the prairie dunes.

Down below over a dune,
As I looked down from my balloon...
The brave Lion running with his pride,
Courageous and never cried.

Up in my journey
To Emerald City,
Suddenly chanced unstable wind...
Halting the flight to avoid a spin.

As I ventured the thicket,
Echoed sounds of crickets,
Laughters no other than Tin Man's
and fellow woodsmen.
On a coppice, where they gathered 'round
a small bonfire encircled by a crowd.
A toast for Tin Man and his bride...
He found his heart, then a knot... and tied!
Wined and dined with Tin Man...
Celebrated... a newly married man!

Started at dawn, continued as planned.
I wondered to find a Munchkin man.
Smooth journey expected ahead...
I made it to the City as I flew overhead.
I was welcomed by the Munchkin folks
With their green glasses on...oh what a joke!
With all the colors, they only chose one?!
They could've had rainbow colors for fun...
They frolicked... they danced,
sang aloud and recited their chants!

I looked for Scarecrow in the fields
And saw his grip 'round a tool to wield.
He now resides the chamber of Wizard,
By golly! He's now the person  in charged!
Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow alike
Persevered and struck
a future for themselves...
and so, they delved!

I thought of my future that never was...
could be redeemed by going to Oz.
Thinking back... my family behind...
my only future I needed to find!

Like Dorothy who missed her home...
And so much more to atone...
I wished to go back...
And thought of the clock.
Tapped my heels three times...
Uttered  “Thank You” prayer in rhymes.
