Have a Laugh with Me

The sun rises quietly, and in soft tip-toe;
it paints.
In this dayglow vibrancy, with image so pure;
it reaches out.
Waking those in need of light, calling to the eager;
beckoning.

It hovers above us, slowly creeping;
raising with it eyes and smiles.
These eyes, these smiles;
ebb and flow with casting shadow.

Wait now on the relief, it will come.
Sure as the the sun sets, it will come.
And it will bring with it dreams,
the dreams of gnashing teeth;
Our dreams, in utter disbelief.

—Breakneck

My shoulders lunge forward;
desultory,
without objection.

I stand with arms thrown open wide,
to welcome home malevolence;
harboring it deep inside,
it thrives on sordid violence.

This head snaps back,
and with skyward eye; Laughs.

Now gaped mouth; lacking smile,
I clack my teeth and stay awhile.
Drawing up these gnarled wrists,
to gain a throat-close intimate;
sending out my thoughts pristine,
from crawling mind;
Serpentine.

When my body’s hung in crooked lurch,
on bending spine of midnight’s birth;
Watch the way my wing bones sway:
Poignant– Alert– Baned - Unscathed
