Why Not Be Alone
I sit here surrounded by souls,
And in me it all takes its tolls,
I share a life with kids and one man,
And hold on to the shreds of my life best I can,
I have been loving and faithful to him,
In a sea of loneliness yet do I swim.
At a loss in what I should do,
How do I start a life anew?
You say you love me,
And others don’t agree,
They see the way you alway treat me,
They beg and they plea,
For me to break ties and become truly free.
My sanity you have beaten and torn,
Our life together often do I mourn.
You do not treat me with love and respect,
So what exactly do you expect?
You harm my children who to me are so dear,
My decision to make seems all too clear.
Yes I may end up alone,
But my kids and my safety will be all my own.
