Lonely end
Cloistered,
Sequestered,
Hid away from all,
The light of the sun but a memory,
The chill of the damp,
The cloying earthly scent,
Insanity but a breath away,
Death two steps after,
What led me here I can’t recall,
Who abandoned me is no longer known,
Tears long since dried,
Heart long since frozen,
Body rigid and eyes useless,
Blanketed by darkness my conscience fades,
One last vision before eternal sleep,
A face I no longer know but feel deep within.
