Lunar Moth

By J A Crowder

She is betrothed to magical star nights
Nigh, she dances beneath a moon’s milky light

To trees, to earth’s soil, to roots of paradise & herbed delights
To dreams set asunder, drifting in sweetest songs of glorious flight

She summons a nightly kingdom, thus drunken in a song’s wish, gripping wild hearts tightly
Turning & yearning for paradise of sleep, whilst touching magical star dust billowing beneath eyelids, soft & lite

From late dawns she floats in air, delicately wrapped within flurries of winds soaked in cotton speckles, like stallions upon darkness & might
Spindles of dreams now ensue, with all those wanton wishes of life flying upon a dawn’s fresh beginning, like momentous waves of blissfully tossed kites

Joyous are they, & joyous is this dance of a magical Lunar Moth, living within her grandest plight
To touch our dreams so pleasantly, so grandly, so Spritely

Til dreams awaken with great boldness & fury, touched by her enchanting bemusement; this Lunar Moth, this majestic queen of darkest, sageless,  wondrous twilight

Lunar Moth. A mystic poem
Written on a peaceful Sunday afternoon
