Wisdom

J A Crowder

Wisdom from the books I’ve been reading on EMOTIONAL well-being, Joy, & overcoming trauma. I’m also taking a class. It’s helped me see things I didn’t see before

In my own words:

I’m searching for the balance
Equilibrium is important to me
Being too optimistic; too positive etc. (or not being in life enough; being too resentful, angry, & avoidant) means for me, you, or I, might be masking truth
Truth isn’t pretty sometimes(truth is the reality, not the fantasy we make up in our minds)
And that’s the **real **normal (why aren’t we ok with that?)
Stigmatizing our **normal experiences & emotions in the name of **always appearing happy, perfect, put together, & “NORMAL” (or, running from our own happiness by remaining stuck in toxic cycles of avoidance)
It means we ignore some pretty important & valuable aspects of our lives(limiting our learning capacity)
It also means we do not accept ourselves as we are, unconditionally(unconditional love for self is important)
Life’s greatest lessons in fact come from the imperfect & unpleasant aspects of our **human emotions & experiences
Why do we have a tendency to stigmatize it?
As if we are “WRONG” somehow when we are “HUMAN”
This is toxic shame
Let’s stop it
