Just words
It didn’t last long, but a lot longer than I expected;
so now I’m by myself again without any reasons.
Maybe I tried too hard, or maybe you should have tried harder,
and I wouldn’t be the one feeling like I do.
He gave me every reason to never want to love again;
I’m not saying it was love, but you showed me the same side that he did.
To feel the way you made me feel, was a priceless way of making me pay;
and I’m tired of promises that never make any sense.

This poem is about having a "friend with benefits"...but in the poem, the person (me) has started to develop feelings for him, only he doesn't feel the same.
